Drama Set Design

One of my A Level Theatre Studies NEA (non-exam assessment) projects.

The brief for this assessment involved making a piece of theatre – an adaptation of Molière's Tartuffe (1664) – in the style of Splendid Productions Theatre Company.

Although I really enjoy acting, I decided that I wanted to specialise in set design for this devised group project. I did this because I thought it would be a great opportunity to learn more about mise-en-scène and the role that production design plays in storytelling.
I really enjoyed building the sets and props and thinking about the stage space in both practical and metaphorical terms.
