The Gun

The first live-action film I ever shot, made to explore montage as an assignment for Film Studies homework.

The homework brief I was given was to demonstrate an understanding of how classical continuity editing works. The film is silent, shot in black and white and is a homage to film noir. I included shot/reverse shot, adherence to the 180 degree rule, eye-line matches and matches on action as the main features of continuity editing. I found the editing process very satisfying as I enjoyed seeing how a story emerged from the way I put the shots together.
