A Bit of a Pickle

My A level Film Studies NEA (non-exam assessment) project.

For this project I decided to write, direct and shoot a surreal, historical comedy. I love comedy, and films such as Withnail and I (Bruce Robinson, 1987) and The Banshees of Inisherin (Martin McDonagh, 2022) as well as work by Stewart Lee, Chris Morris and Monty Python have been important influences on my creativity. In making the film I sought to capture the colours, beauty and ruggedness of the Peak District (which is close to where I live) as well as the absurdity and sometimes dreamlike qualities of my chosen genre.
